Season’s Eatings!

Our website is now filling up with new produce, part of the benefit of having a Farm Shop! Do have a browse if you get the chance. Christmas is closing in and we are now taking orders for our delicious turkeys, gammons and smoked salmon as well as some lovely local  cheese, chutneys and other goodies.  Our Hampers are already flying out, filled with the finest local produce. We will continue to add products to the website, but if you can’t see what you want, do call us on 02392 413 576 and we can source it for you.

It’s also game season, with a lovely selection of venison, pheasant, partridge, wood pigeon and rabbit to choose from.  The game is all shot locally and is easy to prepare, tasty and healthy.

The farm shop is going from strength to strength, with plans to have covered seating next year which will ensure pizzas in the dry, as well as a venue for cooking, foraging and game preparation courses.  We’ll keep you posted on progress.

About us

Fred Duncannon and Sam Edden opened the Stansted Park Farm Shop in March 2012. The aim is to provide as much locally sourced fresh produce as possible, while offering a fantastic shopping experience in a great setting. With a complete range of fresh meat, fruit, vegetables and dairy, as well as a wonderful cheese and deli counter, it’s possible to do your weekly food shop in one go, sourcing produce that you would never find in a supermarket, but on the same budget. If you are not able to visit the farm shop, then you can order online for delivery to your door.

Provenance

At the Stansted Park Farm Shop we enjoy discovering farmers, fishermen and food producers who are passionate about the freshest, tastiest, finest produce and delivering it directly to you. We source beef from the salt marshes around Chichester harbour, venison from the Stansted Estate, lamb from the South Downs and Tamworth pork from the woods of West Dean. We also offer organic produce from the Goodwood estate. Our fish is sourced direct from the boat, including fantastic lobster and crab – which is available every Friday from the shop, or delivered. Our fruit and vegetables come from Chidham or is sourced from local farms where possible.

Transparency

We want complete transparency throughout the production cycle, so that you can find out everything about the food and the producers before you order to ensure you get the best quality at the Stansted Park Farm Shop. We want you to know which boat your fish came from, which herd of cattle your steak was from, its diet, welfare and health. Why is this important? The origin and production of most supermarket food is hidden from us for a good reason, if we knew the truth, we probably wouldn’t buy it. We want you to feel confident in the food you order from us – and to enjoy it with your friends and family.

Seasonal

Food in season is when it is at its peak in terms of flavour – and with our monthly newsletter, we remind you of what is coming into season so that you can look forward to healthy, fresh produce. One of the joys of eating in season is the anticipation – Autumn rain might bring some wild mushrooms, a good spring means that the asparagus is early. Enjoy the local seasonal glut – food at its most healthy, full of nutrition, and which has not been airlifted across the globe to ‘ripen’ on the shelves.

Packaging and Delivery

If you order online, your produce is packed in ice and put into a temperature controlled box to ensure the contents are kept cool and fresh. Delivery is by overnight courier to anywhere in the United Kingdom – see details of individual items for the costs – although you will not be charged more than £6.99 for delivery.
