Wheels for Westbourne 1st Weekend Round-up

By | Events, Family, Greening Westbourne | No Comments

Our Wheels for Westbourne cycling campaign got under way with some great events last weekend.

Our Bike Doctor session in the Square saw a steady stream of people bring their bikes along for a free tweak to get them road-ready. More than 20 machines got some tender loving care.

The following day up to 30 people, aged four to 70-plus, took part in a led ride around the parish despite some far-from-ideal weather.

Next event: longer ride 19 March. Meet at the Square 10am.

Become a Parish Councillor for Westbourne

By | Parish Council News, Village News | No Comments

Westbourne Parish Council is looking to fill its two vacancies.

  • Would you like to be involved in the local community?
  • Make a difference by influencing decisions that benefit Westbourne?
  • Find out more about where you live?
  • Join a friendly and committed team of volunteers?

To apply to be a parish councillor or to find out more, contact Clare Kennett at westbournepc@outlook.com, call 07775 654483 or write to 53 Skylark Avenue, Emsworth, PO10 7GB.

Applicants are invited to attend the Council meeting on Thursday 13 April, 7pm at The Meeting Place, North Street, Westbourne to give a short presentation of their skills and experiences, before a vote by the Council is carried out.

Westbourne currently has seven parish councillors and there are a total of nine places. The two vacancies will be filled by co-option – the process of appointing councillors following an election, which last took place in May 2015. The Council has a monthly evening meeting where it discusses issues across the Parish. The Council welcomes applications from all backgrounds. No previous experience is required and training is available.
