Michael has asked us to spread the word about his fantastic fundraiser for St Wilfreds Hospice. Michael explains:

“I’ve lived in the village for 25 years and ia often out running and people ask “what are you training for”……..

Whilst having a quiet drink a buddy said to me do you fancy doing the Marathon des Sables. Whoops I was on pint two and said yes l mean how hard could the toughest foot race on earth be? Being too stubborn to change my mind I’m now training for running/walking /crawling 250ks ish (barring getting lost) for six days carrying all my own supplies in the Sahara at about 40 degrees give or take a couple of c’s for April.

The trip is self financed and I thought it would be a great way to raise a pound or two for charity however if anyone wants to sponsor a shirt for me much appreciated.

At the end of the day what could possibly go wrong!

My just giving page is: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Michael-reed65

Many thanks so far for all the kind donations and good wishes.”

We wish Michael the very best of luck!!
