The Westbourne Weekend team assembled bright and early today to put up the Christmas Tree and decorations in the village square. The team worked through the drizzle to brighten up the village this festive season – thank you all for all your hard work, it looks fantastic. Here are some pictures…
The Ems Valley Community Transport Christmas party was held yesterday at the Parish Hall. Carols were sung by Westbourne Primary School pupils and staff from the Co-op helped out. Many thanks for all the donations from local businesses for the raffle. Over 100 people attended and the event was a great success!
About 30 people from the Emsworth and Westbourne area gathered at their new community orchard on Saturday to plant more trees.
Seven more apple trees, sponsored by local residents, were planted at the Hampshire Farm Meadows site, off Westbourne Road, Emsworth, bringing the total planted so far to 24.
The Church Christmas Fair took place this Saturday 3rd December at the Parish Hall. The fair had lots of offer including cakes and treats, various stalls with crafts and gifts, face painting and of course Santa’s Grotto!
“Thanks to all those who came and supported our Church Christmas Fair. We raised over £1,100 and are still counting. THANK YOU”
If you can knit a rectangle, then we need you. The metal railings around the Christmas tree will be transformed into fluffy reds, greens, golds, silvers and white. A team of locals and friends are knitting away at home and in The White Horse on Tuesday evenings 7pm to 8.30pm with the final session on 6 December 2016. Do come along with some knitting needles and materials on these evenings. We need rectangles of approximately 10cm x 20cm. Finished items can also be handed into Steph at The White Horse before the 10 December 2016.
Polly has been able to repair many of the decorations from last year and with this year’s ‘crop’ and the crotchet stars, the Square in Westbourne will look even lovelier for the Christmas Tree ceremony and Carols in the Square.
Thank you to everyone who has been knitting or supplied materials including those from Westbourne organisations and the Church.
